A 3-valve manifold comprises two block valves and one equalizer valve. These manifolds are employed with differential pressure transmitters to prevent instrument over-ranging. They operate by connecting two ports to the instrument and the other ports to the process. 5-valve manifolds closely resemble 3-valve manifolds, featuring two block valves and one equalizer valve. However, they also include two additional vent valves.
